Having arrived in the summer after weeks of drawn-out negotiations, Manchester United's £80m summer signing Harry Maguire has already become a key figure for the club.

The England international has taken the armband in recent games, in an undeniable show of faith and trust from Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

However, against Chelsea in the last 16 of the Carabao Cup on Wednesday night, Maguire didn't cover himself in too much glory – particularly for the Blues' equalising goal.

Having taken the lead through a Marcus Rashford penalty, United looked reasonably comfortable with being ahead. But in a lofted ball over the top, Maguire seemed to get bullied out of the way by Chelsea centre-forward Michy Batshuayi, before the Belgian powered away and rifled home.

Despite seeing their side go on to win the game, fans of the Manchester side took to Twitter to voice their frustrations with the centre-back.

Many Red Devils supporters felt Maguire's mistake seemed to be becoming a recurring theme, and voiced their doubts about the £189k-a-week star recent performances.
