So it appears being 19 doesn't give you a free pass. Tahith Chong has been tipped to enjoy a bright career by some, and featured prominently for Manchester United during the club's pre-season tour.

The teenager is amongst a clutch of Red Devils youngsters looking to make their mark at Old Trafford, and was handed the chance to start against Rochdale in the Carabao Cup on Wednesday night.

The Dutchman however failed to grab his opportunity and struggled to impose himself on the game. Before being subbed off in the 59th minute, Chong managed no shots on target, dribbles or accurate crosses.

After seeing the 19-year-old's display, United fans took to Twitter to share their thoughts on the former Feyernoord man.

Many supporters of the Manchester side insisted he simply isn't good enough to make it at this level, with one fan in particular describing him as a "poor man's Stewart Downing".

Some Red Devils fans hammered his end product, and labelled him as "atrocious".
