Despite having signed Bruno Fernandes in the final week of the January transfer window for a reported fee of £47m, it appears Manchester United are still intent on signing an attacking midfielder in the summer.

The Portugal international arrived from Sporting CP, after speculation suggested he could be on his way to Old Trafford even last summer.

And now, according to The Daily Mirror, the Red Devils have made Aston Villa captain Jack Grealish their summer priority instead of Leicester's James Maddison, as they look to further beef up their midfield options.

The report claims that with Maddison looking likely to sign a new deal with the Foxes, Grealish is the man they have turned to. It further adds they see him as an "exciting, young signing capable of giving them a huge lift after another tough season".

After hearing about their links to Grealish, United fans took to Twitter to voice their thoughts on the matter, with some insisting they are targeting the better player.

A couple of fans appeared to think their interest in Grealish suggested it is a sign former Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino could be their next manager.

One fan meanwhile even claimed Grealish is better than January signing Fernandes.

With nine goals and seven assists to his name across all competitions this season, Grealish has enjoyed an impressive first-half of the campaign with Villa.

The 24-year-old is pulling the strings in the middle of the park for Dean Smith's side, averaging an impressive 2.7 key passes and 2.4 dribbles per game in the Premier League.

Even despite the arrival of Fernandes, United could do with someone of Grealish's creativity, and so prioritising a summer move for him makes complete sense.

Meanwhile, Manchester United fans react to reports linking this ace with a move abroad.
