After losing 2-0 to Arsenal last time out in the Premier League, Manchester United returned to winning ways in the Premier League with one of their finest attacking performances of the season against Norwich.
The Red Devils blew past the Canaries 4-0 at Old Trafford on Saturday afternoon, and their chief architect was undoubtedly Juan Mata.

Separating the fairweathers from real fans: How much can you remember about United’s treble season?
And after seeing his display, United fans took to Twitter to voice their thoughts on the Spaniard.
Mata the genius

We need Mata to produce performances like he did vs Norwich more frequently, particularly vs the top sides. I’d written him off completely but there’s clearly still a bit of football left in him, we lack creativity that much.

Juan Mata has such an incredible football brain joy to watch yesterday! Such an intelligent footballer!

Mata is better than Bruno.

A couple of fans of the Manchester side described him as “under-rated”, with one supporter in particular claiming that only Paul Pogba comes close to being able to match the Spaniard’s ability to “deliver the perfect pass”.
The most underrated playmaker in the world! @juanmata8

Underrated player in Utd, a lot of players have legs but can’t spot and deliver the perfect pass like Mata would. Only Pogba could come close.

Another couple of United supporters questioned how Ole Gunnar Solskjaer continues to pick Jesse Lingard over him in general, with the England international playing 27 times compared to Mata’s 21 appearances.
Lingard starting ahead of him should be a crime
— Oki (@joenokiro) 12 January 2020
Jesse lingard is picked before this guy. Ole is laughable.

Despite entering the twilight stages of his footballing career, Mata well and truly rolled back the years with a vintage performance against Norwich. The Spaniard looked threatening every time he received the ball, and it was little surprise to see him pick up two assists. Whilst age may determine he won’t be able to play three games in a week for the club, he should surely feature prominently in Solskjaer’s plans whenever United take to the field.
