After Sky Sports reported late in the evening that personal terms had been agreed, The Athletic's David Ornstein has now revealed that United's loan swoop for the Nigerian is now "all done".

He claims that Ighalo will join the club until the end of the season, but with no option to buy included in the agreement. Ornstein further adds that the striker will fly from China to the UK in the next few days, and that whilst he did not undergo a medical, he is fit to play.

It may have taken the whole of deadline day to reach a positive conclusion, but United and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer won't care one single bit.

Marcus Rashford's injury has left them in a predicament when it comes to the depth of their attacking options, so bringing in Ighalo - even on a temporary basis - can help tide them over until the end of the campaign.

What could've been... Can you name the clubs these football legends almost joined?

Then they can potentially focus on targets far higher up their short-list, and potentially bring in a marquee forward. For Ighalo and United, it really is a win-win situation.

Meanwhile, Manchester United fans react to Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's deadline day decision on this starlet.
