Manchester United will accept £150m for midfielder Paul Pogba this summer, per The Sun.

What’s the word?

The £89m signing from Juventus has spent the past four years at Old Trafford but the report states that the hierarchy at Old Trafford has given up on keeping him beyond this summer.

They had placed a £180m asking price on his head last summer but Real Madrid and former club Juve deemed that too high.

However, The Sun now claims that United would be willing to do business for £30m less as they attempt to shift the World Cup winner.

A staggering cost

The deal to sign Pogba was, at the time, a world record.

While his sale, if it is completed, won’t quite reach the £200m that PSG paid for Neymar, it would still make him the second-most expensive player ever.

That comes after a season in which he has played, thus far, just eight times in all competitions.

He last appeared for the club on Boxing Day, playing 45 minutes in a 4-1 win over Newcastle United.

Both before and since, he has struggled with an ankle injury that has to call into question United’s inflated asking price.

They may well want rid of Pogba – there is said to be a feeling that he is disruptive within the squad – but setting his asking price so high is unlikely to make any transfer easy.

Meanwhile, United fans are delighted with a decision made by Mason Greenwood!
