After selling Romelu Lukaku to Serie A giants Inter in the summer, and then failing to sign a replacement before the end of the window, it is unsurprising that Manchester United have looked a touch short on goals this season.

According to Goal, United have turned their attentions towards Wolves striker Raul Jimenez in this January transfer window. The report claims that the Red Devils have "moved to open talks" regarding a transfer for the Mexican, particularly following Erling Braut Haaland's decision to join Borussia Dortmund in recent weeks. It adds that negotiations are at an early stage however, with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer himself admitting after the FA Cup clash against Nuno Espirito Santo's side that he's a "good player".

After hearing about the links to the forward, United fans took to Twitter to voice their thoughts on their reported interested in him.

A couple of fans discussed Jimenez's style of play and wondered how we would fit into the current United team, with there appearing to be a split on whether his profile is what the Red Devils need.

Some fans discussed whether Jimenez would actually be starting for Solskjaer, and questioned whether he is good enough to displace Anthony Martial from the starting line-up.

Meanwhile, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's praise of this fringe man is ominous for one of Manchester United's key stars.
