What a roller-coaster ride this season is turning out to be for Manchester United. A miserable start to the campaign saw them slip to shock defeats to the likes of Crystal Palace and Newcastle, before racking up three consecutive away wins on the bounce a couple of weeks ago.

Then, reality appeared to kick in again with a tame loss to Bournemouth last weekend, but on Thursday night, the Red Devils produced one of their better displays of the season to dispatch Partizan Belgrade 3-0 in the Europa League. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side were purring in attack, and looked as creative as they've been in a long time, firing 14 total shots on goal.

And with a home clash against Brighton in the Premier League at the weekend, the United boss may well feel performances from certain individuals have earned them a starting spot in the line-up.

Despite keeping a clean sheet in mid-week, Sergio Romero will no doubt make way for first-choice goalkeeper David de Gea. In front of him, Victor Lindelof was ruled out of the game against Partizan, and whilst reports claim he could be set to shake off his ankle injury, Solskjaer may opt to go Harry Maguire and Marcos Rojo - the latter being someone he lauded as being "top-quality" in his post-match comments.

With Ashley Young suspended due to picking up five yellow cards already in the league, Brandon Williams could be the man tasked with replacing the veteran. In midfield, Scott McTominay picked up a knock on Thursday night that eventually forced him off mid-way through the second-half, and Solskjaer himself admitted there is a major doubt hanging over his head. If the Scotland international fails to make it, fellow academy product James Garner could start from the off.

Juan Mata's impressive display in mid-week - he registered two key passes and completed four dribbles - saw him earn the plaudits of United fans, and would surely have caught the eye of his manager too. And after having rested him for the Partizan game, Solskjaer could bring Daniel James back to the fold and reunite him with Thursday night goal-scorers Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial.
