Manchester United ace ‘desperate’ to leave

Robin van Persie is ready to leave Manchester United this summer, according to reports from talkSPORT.

The Dutch striker is believed to be unsettled at Old Trafford, with David Moyes’ arrival and Sir Alex Ferguson’s exit said to have caused him to question his future.

Van Persie’s rumoured discontent has been reflected on the pitch, where he has been a shadow of the player who fired United to Premier League glory and has struggled to link with star striker partner Wayne Rooney this term.

Now reports suggest that RVP is ready to call time on his spell at the Theatre of Dreams when the season ends.

The 30-year-old is attracting serious interest from Serie A champions Juventus, whom he is understood to be keen to join.

Arsenal are also in the running, despite Arsene Wenger having distance himself from a move to re-sign his former club captain.

There have been suggestions in the media that van Persie has a clause in his contract allowing him to leave for a discounted fee if a top four finish is not secured, but it is thought that such talk is wide of the mark.
