If the talks had gone well, then there would be less need for these make-or-break talks this month, suggesting that the forward is determined to leave Old Trafford this summer.
The England striker grew unhappy with his role at the club last season under Sir Alex Ferguson, after not only playing in the midfield, but surprisingly being dropped for key matches, such as Real Madrid’s visit to Old Trafford in the Champions League.

The 27-year-old has been linked with Arsenal, Chelsea, Real Madrid, Barcelona and PSG, although it’s the Gunners who have reportedly made the first bid for the Englishman.
Rooney is set to go on the club’s pre-season tour of the Far East and Australia next week, although he could depart the tour early if a deal takes place during the trip.
