Barcelona star Neymar has urged unsettled Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney to join him at the Nou Camp.
The England international’s future at Old Trafford is far from clear, with reports suggesting that he is keen to move on after being frozen out of the Red Devils’ starting XI by former boss Sir Alex Ferguson.
Only a handful of teams on the planet are believed to have the financial capability to lure ‘Wazza’ away from the Premier League champions, with Barca one of them.
Neymar – who recently moved to the La Liga giants from Santos in a mega money deal – is keen to link up with Rooney and believes that he would be a perfect fit at the club:
“The style of football we [Barcelona] play and the level of the players we have – we are the perfect club for the top players to join.” He is quoted by The Metro.
“I have met Wayne on a few occasions and he seems a good guy but importantly, he is one of the players I admire most in the world.
“Wayne is one of the most gifted and technical players in the world.
“Of course he would improve Barcelona. He would improve any club in Europe. And on a personal level, it would be a dream to play with him.”
New United boss David Moyes is rumoured to be keen to keep Rooney, and is planning to hold talks with the player in a bid to convince him to stay.
The likes of Paris Saint-Germain, Monaco, Chelsea and Real Madrid have all been linked with the ex-Everton man.
Would Wayne Rooney, Neymar and Lionel Messi be the best attacking trio in world football?
