Manchester United back in for Italian ace

Roma midfielder Daniele de RossiManchester United are set to make a second move for Roma midfielder Daniele De Rossi, according to reports from the Daily Star.

The Red Devils saw a surprise £10m offer for the Italian rejected late last week, but that has not deterred David Moyes.

The Scot is desperate to land at least one big name signing before the transfer window closes, and is set to return for De Rossi.

However, instead of pursuing a permanent switch, Moyes is set to launch a loan move for the 30-year-old.

The rugged enforcer has become a hero figure at his boyhood club, but is said to be considering a move away from Rome after growing disillusioned by managerial changes and on-field failings.

Chelsea were linked with a move for his signature, but their interest cooled leading many to believe that De Rossi would be staying at the Stadio Olimpico.

But, United’s search for midfield reinforcements could see him make the move away from Serie A.

Meanwhile, Moyes is also considering moves for a wide array of other big name stars.

Real Madrid’s Luka Modric, Ilkay Gundogan of Borussia Dortmund, Athletic Bilbao ace Ander Herrera and long-term target Marouane Fellaini are also on his radar.
