Manchester United back in for Real Madrid ace

Cristiano Ronaldo (Real-Madrid)Manchester United could use Gareth Bale’s imminent move to Real Madrid to force a deal for Cristiano Ronaldo, according to reports from the Daily Star.

The Red Devils have been linked with moves for the former idol on numerous occasions this summer, and the player himself has even spoken of his love for the club.

Although Real are unwilling to sell, United are considering a move for his signature.

The La Liga giants are close to tying up a world-record move for Bale, which would dramatically alter the look of their first-team.

Should the Welshman arrive, manager Carlo Ancelotti is keen to field him on the left wing – a position currently occupied by Ronaldo.

The Italian is keen to push the 28-year-old in a more advanced role, and it is unclear as to whether the player will be keen to occupy a new position on a permanent basis.

United are watching the situation closely, and are ready to pounce if there are any signs of unrest.

Ronaldo is believed to be willing to pen a new deal at the Bernabeu as it stands, but the Premier League champions are ready to wait until next summer to make their move.
