Sir Alex Ferguson has vowed to carry on and has no intention of walking away from his ‘team of champions’ at Manchester United.
United won their 20th league title this season but there have been suggestions that Ferguson, who is due to undergo hip surgery later in the summer, could decide to call it a day.
However Ferguson has moved quickly to allay such fears and although he admits he cannot go on forever, he has no immediate plans to walk away from Old Trafford.
“This team of champions isn’t going away, we’re here for the long ride,” Ferguson revealed. “We’ll get better and if we apply ourselves in our normal fashion I see our 20th league title as nothing but the start of another decade of success.
“Whether I’ll be here to oversee another decade of success remains to be seen, but I certainly don’t have any plans to walk away from what I believe will be something special and worth being around to see.”
