Manchester United manager David Moyes has poured cold water on claims that Javier Hernandez is set to leave the club in January.
The Mexican hit-man is believed to have grown frustrated at a lack of first-team opportunities this term, leading to rumours that he could move to Valencia or Tottenham in the New Year.
‘Chicharito’ currently finds himself behind Wayne Rooney and Robin van Persie in the battle for a starting berth and in direct competition with Danny Welbeck.
But, Moyes is adamant that Hernandez will be staying at Old Trafford and that he will have a significant role to play over the course of the season.
“It [Hernandez’s exit] is not a question for now,” Moyes told The Metro.
“He will play a lot of games before the end of the season.”
The prolific forward has made just two starts all season, which has led to rumours that he is keen to move on in order to play regularly in the build up to the 2014 World Cup.
He reportedly turned down a move to Valencia over the summer, and Tottenham are also believed to be watching his situation.
