The Spanish midfielder has formed one of the main talking points of this summer’s transfer window, with two failed bids for the player having taken place already, however when Moyes was asked whether a third approach would be made, the Scotsman said: “I can’t say anything about it.”
When this was followed up by questions regarding potential replacements, Moyes added: “they will”.
Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger, who presided over Fabregas during his time in the Premier League at Arsenal allegedly stated than the Spaniard would remain at Barcelona for at least one more season, however United still remain in the hunt according to sources in the North-West.
Moyes also tackled questions regarding Wayne Rooney, and his exclusion from the friendly against AIK last night. Rooney has been linked with Premier League rivals Chelsea, however the United manager only offered fitness updates.
“He’s got a shoulder injury. I don’t think it will keep him out very long,” Moyes said.
“He has an injury from when he fell on it the other day in a game.
“Wayne’s not going to be fit for Friday. I don’t think he’ll be fit and available. I hope he will be but I have a feeling he won’t make it.
“As for the Community Shield on Sunday, the problem we’ve got is he’s not played any games. He’s not had any football yet and we need to take that into consideration.”
