Manchester United eyeing £5m Turkish ace

Red Devils boss David Moyes is ready to splash the cash in the New Year after a summer of disappointment in the transfer market.

Although a left-back and a central midfielder are said to be his priorities, the Scot is also keen to land a back-up stopper to keep David de Gea on his toes.

Moyes’ current alternative ‘keeper is Ander Lindegaard, but the Dane is rumoured to be ready to eave Old Trafford in search of regular first-team action.

Kivrak has been identified by United as a potential replacement, and scouts from the club have been assessing his abilities ahead of the winter window.

The Turkish international has gained a reputation as a commanding and brave goalkeeper in his homeland, where he has been a key player for Trabzonspor for some time.

Moyes is believed to be ready to open the bidding for the 25-year-old at £5m, and is hopeful that a deal can be struck swiftly.

Kivrak has also been linked with Barcelona, but a move to England is thought to be more appealing to him.
