Manchester United face fight for Ligue 1 pair

Manchester United will have to see off interest from Roma if they are to seal deals for Montpellier and Saint Etienne duo Remy Cabella and Faouzi Ghoulam, according to reports from The Express.

The Premier League champions have been linked with the Ligue 1 pair for some time, with rumours suggesting that winter offers for one, if not both, are already being prepared.

But, United will have to fend off Serie A giants Roma if they are to land the players.

The Italians are keen on both, with new boss Rudi Garcia having a deep knowledge of the French top tier.

Ghoulam has been heavily linked with United in recent weeks, with David Moyes thought to see the Algerian as a potential replacement for Patrice Evra.

The Saint Etienne man has been in excellent form, and is seen as a cost-effective alternative to Leighton Baines.

Cabella is also on Moyes’ radar, with adding more creativity to his midfield a priority following a disappointing start to the season.

The 23-year-old is widely thought of as one of Ligue 1’s best playmakers, and is thought to be available for around £15m.
