Manchester United failed with late move for Turkish ace

Arada Turan (Atletico Madrid)Manchester United failed with a deadline day move for Atletico Madrid midfielder Arda Turan, according to reports from The Express.

The Red Devils endured a woeful transfer window, with a number of big name players opting to reject moves to Old Trafford.

David Moyes left it late to secure his only major signing of the summer, forcing through a late deal for Marouane Fellaini.

United also made a deadline day move for Turan, meeting his £20m buyout clause.

However, complications surrounding finalising a deal scuppered the transfer.

The 26-year-old has been a key part of the Spaniards’ first-team for some time, and helped them to Copa del Rey victory last season.

He has also been linked with Liverpool in recent times, with speculation suggesting that a move away from Madrid could be a possibility.

United were also unsuccessful with a move for Athletic Bilbao’s Ander Herrera, but could return with a fresh offer in January.

Moyes was reluctant to meet his release clause – believed to be around £30m – ending the chances of a summer agreement.

But, the midfielder has confessed that he is keen to join the Premier League champions, opening the door for a future switch.

Manchester United fans, can Moyes right the wrongs of this summer in January?
