Manchester United fans blast Mourinho’s derby tactics

Manchester United fans may have been hosting the first local derby of the season, but it was Manchester City who dominated at Old Trafford.

Pep Guardiola’s side extended their lead at the top of the Premier League table by 11 points thanks to a 2-1 victory over the Red Devils.

United manager Jose Mourinho selected a bold lineup by fielding Anthony Martial, Marcus Rashford and Jesse Lingard.

The trio were set up as support for Romelu Lukaku with the intention of causing trouble for City on the counter-attack.

In reality, the team struggled to impose any sort of threat against the blue half of Manchester, who dominated the encounter and should have taken all three points with a bigger goal margin.

Mourinho has often been accused of ‘parking the bus’ in big matches in an attempt to stifle the opposition.

The Portuguese coach’s gameplan did not work today, and some fans have placed the blame at the manager’s door.
