With Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side really struggling defensively last season, it would be no surprise to see Manchester United strengthen their backline during the summer transfer window.

The Red Devils have already been busy in the summer transfer window by signing Swansea winger Daniel James and according to reports in recent weeks, have stepped up their interest in Crystal Palace right-back Aaron Wan-Bissaka.

However, in an update from Sky Sports, United have seen their latest bid worth £50m rejected by the Eagles with the report claiming that the offer comprised of £35m being paid up front, and the rest in add-ons.

With the report adding that Palace would accept a straight £50m offer, many United fans took to Twitter to voice their frustrations at the club's seeming reluctance to get the deal done as quick as possible.

Some United supporters were unhappy that the club were delaying the potential signing of the right-back and urged Ed Woodward to step up his negotiation skills.

Indeed, a few were left to wonder how the club were in such desperate need of a major summer rebuild and yet are seemingly penny-pinching over new signings.
