Despite completing deals for Daniel James and Aaron Wan-Bissaka relatively early in the summer, Manchester United's transfer business has somewhat shuddered to a halt in recent weeks.

Reports have suggested that United are continuing to pursue a big-money move for Harry Maguire, whilst a swoop for Newcastle's Sean Longstaff has hit complications over the Magpies' valuation of the midfielder.

Now, Sky Sports claim that the club's executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward will not be joining the Red Devils on their pre-season tour as he believes staying in the UK is more crucial to the club's transfer dealings.

After hearing the news of Woodward and the club's decision, United fans took to Twitter to voice their thoughts on the matter, and many were seemingly unimpressed by it.

Supporters of the Manchester side felt that this was simply creating a sense of deja vu after receiving similar news almost six years ago when Woodward missed a pre-season trip to complete "urgent transfer business".

Indeed, many admitted that they did not feel confident at all that Woodward will be able to get things done and wondered whether United would end up with Marouane Fellaini like they did in the summer of 2013.
