Having joined from Premier League rivals Everton, Romelu Lukaku has had an up-and-down career at Old Trafford to say the least.
The Belgian striker managed just 15 goals in 45 appearances across all competitions last season, and reports have been swirling over his long-term future at the club.
It had been claimed Serie A giants Inter were very much interested in taking the 26-year-old to Italy, but according to an update from The Sun, the Nerazzurri’s unwillingness to match United’s valuation has thrown a spanner in the works.
The report claims Lukaku will now have to join the Red Devils’ pre-season tour when the team flies out to Perth on Monday.

After hearing about the news the striker will still be at the club for the foreseeable future, United fans took to Twitter to share their opinions on the matter.
Despite his underwhelming goal-record last season, some fans of the Manchester side were rather upbeat about Lukaku potentially staying at Old Trafford and insisted that he could come good once more.
Indeed, United supporters threw their backing behind the Belgian joining up with the squad on pre-season, so long as some of the club’s youngsters like Mason Greenwood still got their fair share of opportunities.
Check out some of the reaction of United fans below:
He’s a good teammate. Top bloke.
No harm in taking him with us as long as he doesn’t take minutes off Greenwood.

He is great in the air needs to learn his first touch and can also score more if he gets services regularly

Stop wasting our time & do one then. Lukaku will score us 20+ goals next season with better service from midfield and wings, mark my words.

Honestly hope he stays. Is a top quality player that we have failed with a major lack of service to finish

Rather him stay because then we’ll need a striker and we already need to strengthen 3 other positions plus Lukaku is a 25+ goals a season guy so he’s useful
