So after an Old Trafford exit seemed likely, Marcos Rojo will be staying put at Manchester United for the time being.
Reports earlier had claimed Everton were in talks with the Red Devils over a potential late swoop for the Argentina international, but Sky Sports have now confirmed that a prospective move is dead in the water.
The report claims the Toffees pulled out of negotiations to sign Rojo after they “baulked” at the fee demanded by United, and as such, the centre-back will not be plying his trade for another Premier League side anytime soon.
After hearing the news a possible move had fallen through, United fans took to Twitter to share their thoughts on the matter and many were seemingly frustrated by the update.
Some supporters of the Manchester side simply suggested it is no surprise to see yet more “deadwood” remain at the club and even revealed they didn’t blame Everton for taking the decision to bow out.
Indeed, a few even claimed the Toffees are “lucky” in missing out on Rojo’s signature and labelled the 29-year-old as an “incompetent child”.

No surprise another deadwood gets to stay

Couldn’t blame them, it seems every manutd palyer is destined to leave by the end of his contract as nobody wants them. Which is fair. The transfer policy is completely chaotic and we know who to blame.

I knew it. He’ll retire at United. At the age of 35, after we extend his contract twice cos Woodward is terrified of losing him for free

7 CB’s then. That’s outrageous. Hope it doesn’t influence Axel’s playtime this season.
