So after all the talk of a tantalising swap deal involving Romelu Lukaku and Paulo Dybala, it appears that will not be the case. And one man who will seemingly also feel the effects of Manchester United pulling the plug on a deal, is Mario Mandzukic.

The Croatian was a part of the discussions over the reported swap, and it was suggested Juventus were offering both Dybala and Mandzukic to United in an attempt to bring Lukaku to Turin.

However, following the collapse of that deal, Goal claim United have "cooled" their interest in the veteran forward and that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer would be "relaxed" over the possibility of not signing a potential replacement for Lukaku.

After hearing the news the Red Devils had dropped their interest in the former Bayern Munich star, United fans took to Twitter to voice their thoughts on the matter and many were seemingly furious.

Some supporters of the Manchester side simply insisted that Solskjaer is proving himself to be a "Glazer puppet" and revealed their concerns over the upcoming season.

Indeed, a few United fans even felt that failing to get an adequate replacement for Lukaku could result in Solskjaer getting sacked, and suggested they would finish sixth in the Premier League once again.

Check out some of the reaction of United fans below:
