Having arrived in the summer of 2017 from Benfica, Victor Lindelof has endured a rather mixed career at Old Trafford.

The Sweden international has shown glimpses of why Manchester United splashed out big-money to sign him, but there have also been occasions where he has come under heavy criticism.

However, the 25-year-old has enjoyed an impressive start to the current campaign, helping the Red Devils to a resounding 4-0 win over top-four rivals Chelsea.

Now, The Daily Mirror claim United see Lindelof as a long-term partner to Harry Maguire in the centre of defence, and are willing to offer the Swede double the amount of money he is currently earning.

The report adds Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side are ready to hand the former Benfica ace a three-year extension worth £150k-a-week.

After hearing the news Lindelof could be offered a new contract, United fans took to Twitter to share their thoughts on the matter.

Many supporters of the Manchester side insisted the centre-back "deserves" the reported offer for showing his "class".

Others however were far more reluctant to see the club offer such a huge pay-rise to someone who hasn't consistently produced for the side just yet.
