Having been released at the end of last season from Tottenham, Fernando Llorente remains on the lookout for his next club.

The veteran forward enjoyed a memorable campaign in north London last year, helping the Lilywhites to a Champions League final.

Reports in recent weeks had linked Manchester United with a move for the Spaniard, and claimed that Llorente had edged closer to signing a two-year contract with the Red Devils.

However, The Daily Mail now say Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side are "unlikely" to make a move for the 34-year-old and the club "do not plan" on making a move for the striker anytime soon.

After hearing the latest update on a rumoured swoop for Llorente, United fans took to Twitter to voice their opinions on the matter.

Many supporters of the Manchester side revealed their relief at not having the former Juventus star sign for the club.

Indeed, some Red Devils fans insisted Solskjaer is better off simply using the side's academy talent like Mason Greenwood, instead of giving valuable minutes to players in the twilight of their careers.
