Manchester United fans react to reports Matteo Darmian will leave next summer

Premiership Picks

Having arrived in the summer of 2015 from Torino, Matteo Darmian has struggled to nail down a place in Manchester United’s starting eleven.

The Italy international has been in and out of the team since his move to Old Trafford, and fell out of favour under Jose Mourinho.

His game-time under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has similarly been limited, and reports now claim the upcoming season could be his final one at United.

Rai Sport (via Football Italia) have suggested Serie A giants Inter have reached an agreement with the versatile defender over a free transfer next summer, following the expiration of his contract.

After hearing the news Darmian could be on his way out of Old Trafford, United fans took to Twitter to share their thoughts on the matter.

Following Romelu Lukaku’s move to Inter on deadline day, supporters of the Manchester side appeared to thank Antonio Conte for also trying to sign Darmian.

Some Red Devils fans though urged the club to sell the 29-year-old in this window in order to get some money for him.
