According to Fotboll Direkt, Manchester United are interested in making a shock loan move for Helsingborgs IF defender, Andreas Granqvist, in January.
The 33-year-old centre-back enjoyed a fine World Cup campaign with Sweden, who he captained to the quarter-finals stage in Russia. On the biggest stage, the veteran was imperious at the back and even chipped in with a couple of vital goals along the way.

Despite his eye-catching World Cup displays, Granqvist would still be a shock target for the Red Devils to pursue, as he is currently operating in the second tier of Swedish domestic football.
Jose Mourinho’s side may currently be struggling defensively, but considering that he already has the likes of Eric Bailly, Victor Lindelof, Phil Jones, Chris Smalling and Marcos Rojo to call upon, it’s hard to see room for Granqvist at Old Trafford.
Many United fans certainly had something to say about the surprise rumours, and took to Twitter to voice their thoughts…
And someone who has had a really solid partnership with Lindelöf.
