The ball is well and truly in your court now, United and City. Both Manchester clubs have been hell-bent on signing Leicester star Harry Maguire this summer in an epic tussle for the centre-back's signature, and it appears it could be set to drag on until the very end of the transfer window.

Reports had suggested in recent weeks that United had not given up their chase of the 26-year-old after being quoted an extraordinary fee, but it appears the Red Devils will not be able to convince the Foxes to compromise just yet.

In an update from The Telegraph, having told Leicester that he wants out this summer, Brendan Rodgers' side are understood to have acquiesced to the defender's request as long as any interested sides pay between £80m and £90m to sign him.

The report claims that Maguire will not attempt to force through a move away and that United are currently "still some way" from agreeing a deal.

After hearing that it would take a world-record fee for a defender to sign Maguire, United fans took to Twitter to voice their thoughts on the matter and many were rather concerned by having to pay such an amount.

Many Red Devils supporters insisted that the potential deal would not represent value for money, and urged the club to turn their attentions elsewhere.
