Manchester United fans react to update on Marcos Rojo’s future

Signed from Portuguese side Sporting CP in the summer of 2014, Marcos Rojo’s career at Manchester United has been plagued by injuries and inconsistent form.

The tough-tackling Argentine has been restricted to limited appearances for the Red Devils since his arrival at Old Trafford, and played just 211 minutes of Premier League football last season.

Now, The Daily Record claim that United are struggling to find another team interested enough in buying the versatile defender this summer.

The report adds that the Manchester side have placed a £25m valuation on Rojo’s head and that it has proven to be prohibitive, particularly with the centre-back’s reported £8m annual salary.

After hearing the news the club were having difficulties in moving the out-of-favour Argentine out the door, United fans took to Twitter to share their thoughts on the matter.

Some Red Devils supporters seemed to be in agreement that the 29-year-old wasn’t worth the amount the club were looking to sell him for and instead suggested that they would be “very lucky” to get just £10m.

Others however were far more reluctant to see him leave and claimed that he is amongst the side’s best defensive options, and is even better than summer target Harry Maguire.
