Before we send you all into a panic, Manchester United fans, just know that this is merely a tweet and could mean anything. However, for those of you who love a cryptic message and get sucked into the madness of the silly season, this might worry you. David De Gea has joined up with the Spain squad, and his latest tweet has scared some United supporters.
Did you miss me? pic.twitter.com/3mLV6nVj3n
— David de Gea (@D_DeGea) 3 June 2019
The Spanish shot-stopper may have been operating well below his usual standards for a large amount of the 2018/19 season, but all it has taken for him to send his fan base into meltdown is four words, two emojis and a picture. ‘Did you miss me?’ with a picture of himself embracing Real Madrid and Spain captain Sergio Ramos was enough to send fans on Twitter berserk.
The Santiago Bernabeu is going to be seeing a lot of players come and go just like Old Trafford in the coming months, that much is clear. Both of the European giants have suffered appalling domestic seasons and changes will be made at both, but with Madrid’s historical interest in De Gea, the United fans are perhaps right to be scared about his cheeky message.
You can see what the Red Devils have made of De Gea’s tweet here:
