Manchester United fans worried about Manchester City showdown

Manchester United dominated English football for more than two decades, but since Sir Alex Ferguson’s retirement in 2013, the club have lost a bit of their shine.

In recent years, the Red Devils’ neighbours Manchester City have been regular title challengers, and last season they stormed to the crown under manager Pep Guardiola.

The Cityzens look on course to do the same again in the 2018-19 campaign as they currently sit at the top of the table unbeaten after 11 games.

Liverpool and Chelsea are also yet to suffer defeat in the top flight, but City look a cut above the rest, particularly after they blew away Southampton with a 6-1 triumph on Sunday afternoon.

United currently sit seventh in the standings, nine points adrift of City ahead of Sunday’s Manchester derby at the Etihad Stadium.

Prior to that encounter, Jose Mourinho’s side, who edged past Bournemouth 2-1 at the weekend, will have to take on Juventus away in the Champions League.

The tasks ahead are a daunting prospect for some United fans, and many are worried about the derby clash.
