Manchester United flop ready to leave

Marouane Fellaini is ready to leave Manchester United to join Napoli after just one year at Old Trafford, according to reports from Corriere dello Sport.

The Belgian midfielder was David Moyes’ first signing of his ill-fated time with the Red Devils as he switched from Everton in a deal worth close to £30m.

Despite his reputation as one of the Premier League’s top talents, Fellaini has been a disappointment at United and was often a figure of criticism as the club slipped from champions to a seventh placed finish.

He has been linked with a move away from the Theatre of Dreams in recent times, with Napoli understood to be at the front of the queue for his signature.

Although claims were made that Fellaini was ready to stay put and prove himself, it’s now being reported that he actually wants a fresh start in Naples.

The Serie A giants are said to be ready to make a loan offer with a view to a full purchase for around £15m which may tempt Louis van Gaal, who has already admitted that his inherited squad lack balance.
