Manchester United in transfer battle for Douglas Costa

Manchester United are reportedly in a massive transfer race to sign Juventus winger Douglas Costa.

What’s the story?

Well, Tuttosport claims PSG, Manchester City and the Red Devils are all vying for Costa’s signature.

The Brazilian international is expected to leave Turin this summer, and while the report claims PSG are the only ones in contact with the player’s agents, the interest from Manchester remains.

Juventus will open the bidding at €60m (£51.7m).

Perfect Sancho alternative

If Jadon Sancho turns out to be just too expensive, then moving for Costa is an excellent back-up plan.

The 28 year-old will have absolutely no problem with the pressure of the red shirt having already won trophies for the biggest clubs in Ukraine, Germany and Italy.

He is also of course exactly what the Red Devils are lacking; a right winger who will offer width, explosive speed and end product.

Perhaps above all else though, he is a player that will get all of Old Trafford off their seats every time he touches the ball, something fans haven’t had enough of in recent years.

In fact, his ability to ghost past defenders like they aren’t even there is probably even better than Anthony Martial, who is the one current United player capable of dancing past several players with his quick feet.

With skill, speed, excellent crossing ability and a rocket of a left-foot, Costa is pure entertainment and might even make the electric Martial look a bit boring by comparison.
