Manchester United are keeping a close watch over Brentford’s highly-rated 22-year-old goalkeeper Simon Moore.
United goalkeeping coach Eric Steele was sent to Crewe’s League One match against Brentford last week but, although Moore kept a clean sheet, he had little to do against a lacklustre home side.
Moore has come onto the Reds’ radar after his stunning form this season has helped Brentford’s push for promotion, making 40 League One starts and keeping 13 clean sheets.
Former England goalkeeper David James has tipped him as a future star of the national team after coming up against him while at Bournemouth this season.
Newcastle and Sunderland are also thought to be admirers of Moore while Championship promotion hopefuls Hull City and Nottingham Forest are also keeping tabs on the former Southampton trainee.
“It is obviously flattering to be linked with clubs in the Premier League and Championship, but all my focus is on helping Brentford secure promotion,” Moore told Sky Sports.
“I am happy at Brentford and I want to keep playing regularly so I can continue my development.”
