Manchester United keeping tabs on Colombian ace

Quintero

Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson is set to make a move for Colombian star Juan Fernando Quintero this summer, according to the Daily Mail.

The central midfielder has been on loan at Serie A side Pescara this season from his parent club Atletico Nacional and has impressed many in Italy with Juventus and Inter Milan also tracking him.

United scouted the talented playmaker at the South America under-20 Championships where Quintero netted five teams en route to lifting the trophy in January.

The 20 year old would jump at the chance to join a club such as United as Ferguson looks to rebuild his midfield.

The Red Devils are set to allow Anderson, Nani and Ashley Young to leave Old Trafford this summer with Ryan Giggs and Paul Scholes now well and truly in the autumn of their careers.

Quintero would be seen as the ideal partner for the impressive Michael Carrick with Wayne Rooney also dropping into a midfield role more often.
