Speaking to Sky Sports, Manchester United legend Bryan Robson has urged want-away star Paul Pogba to "get his head down" and "give everything for the club" amid speculation he could be leaving Old Trafford.

What did he say?

Reports in recent weeks have suggested that Pogba could be on his way out of United this summer, and comments from his agent Mino Raiola appeared to confirm that was the case.

Despite seemingly being keen on an exit, the France World Cup winner travelled with the Red Devils on their pre-season tour and Robson advised the midfielder on his actions, regardless of whether he stays or goes.

He said: "You're a Manchester United player, you're contracted to them so you have to give everything for the club, the team and the fans.

"Get your head down, do your pre-season as well as you can - which, from what I've seen in the training sessions, he has done - and if something happens and the club want it to happen, or nothing happens then you've got to get on with it."

Professionalism

For all of the drama surrounding the Frenchman's situation at the moment, his professionalism in going on the club's pre-season tour cannot be underestimated. The likes of Laurent Koscielny and Antoine Griezmann have created great furore with their actions over the past couple of weeks, and have been a symbol of the lengths players are willing to go to in order to get what they want.

To Pogba's credit, the 26-year-old produced a fine display in United's friendly against Australian outfit Perth Glory and provided the assist for the opening goal of the game. Reports have suggested that one of the midfielder's suitors, Juventus, have pulled out of the running to sign him, leaving Real Madrid as seemingly the only available option left.

As Robson alluded to, Pogba must continue to honour the United shirt whilst he remains employed by the club and if a move doesn't happen to materialise for him, then he needs to buckle down and simply do his job.
