Manchester United line up world record Real Madrid raid

Manchester United are ready to offer Real Madrid a world record £90m fee for Gareth Bale in January and are confident of tying up a deal, according to reports from Fichajes.

The Red Devils are rumoured to be ready to build on their £150m summer mega spend when the transfer window re-opens at the start of 2015, with Louis van Gaal’s side having made a stuttering start to the season.

Cristiano Ronaldo was long mooted as their top target, but with a deal to being the former Old Trafford hero having been deemed all but impossible, Bale is now the player they want.

The flying Welshman only completed an £86m move – the highest sum ever paid for a player – to Real from Tottenham last year, and enjoyed a fine debut campaign with Los Blancos – scoring in their Champions League Final victory.

However, speculation suggests that his future at the club is in some doubt, with manager Carlo Ancelotti concerned that he is no longer a good fit in his system alongside the likes of James Rodriguez and Toni Kroos.

Reports reveal that United are ready to pay £90m for Bale, with LVG having been given the green light to chase the move.

The club are also keen to offer him a monster salary in a bid to lure him back to English football.
