Manchester United manager hints at Vidal move

Manchester United boss Lous van Gaal has hinted at a move for Juventus midfielder Arturo Vidal, according to the Express.

The Dutch manager, who will face up against Vidal’s Chile in the World Cup on June 23rd, has expressed his desire to work with Vidal previously in his career:

“Chile have very dangerous players,” Van Gaal said.

“I always wanted to buy Vidal when he was at Bayer Leverkusen but he went to Juventus. I like a lot of Chile players and they always play an attacking style. It will be difficult for the Netherlands but we have confidence in the three games we have to play.”

Juventus have admitted they would listen to offers for Vidal, but only if they were at least £50million. And van Gaal could be tempted to make an offer for his soon-to-be opponent in the World Cup, once he finishes his spell with the Netherlands. The 62-year-old will start working at Old Trafford once Holland exit the tournament.

LVG could begin his United career as late as July 14th, should his nation get to the final in Brazil, held the night before. With potentially just one-a-half months left of the transfer window for the Dutchman, he will need to plan his United shortlist early, with Vidal potentially on the top of the pile.
