United have had an equally problematic start to the season, with David Moyes struggling to get the best out of a squad not dissimilar to the one that claimed the league title last season – Sir Alex Ferguson’s last at the club.
Mata has been hailed as the player to turn the Old Trafford outfit’s fortunes around, with some even going as far as to say that he may be able to help them close the 15 point gap that separates them from leaders Arsenal.

“Obviously Chelsea, Arsenal and Manchester City are the favourites to win, they have been the most consistent during the first part of the season.”
