Manchester United plot £50m transfer raid

Manchester United are plotting a sensational £50million summer raid on Southampton for Luke Shaw and Adam Lallana, according to talkSPORT.

David Moyes is looking to significantly strengthen his squad in the summer, after a nightmare first season in charge at Old Trafford.

United have had Shaw down as a long term target, and have reportedly moved ahead of Chelsea in their pursuit of England’s latest debutant, despite the fact the 18-year-old is said to be a lifelong Chelsea fan.

And midfielder Lallana could follow Shaw to Old Trafford as part of a mega £50million double deal.

The Saints skipper has enjoyed a fantastic season on the south coast, scoring nine goals and making his England debut against Chile in November.

He now looks a certainty for Roy Hodgson’s World Cup squad, where an impressive tournament could see his stock rise further.

Moyes is reportedly looking to complete as much business as possible before the summer’s tournament kicks off in Brazil, with a deal for Sporting Lisbon star William Carvalho reportedly in place.
