The Toffees are keen to keep hold of one of their star players, amidst reports that former Everton boss David Moyes will try to take the Belgian with him to Old Trafford.
Moyes is looking to add a central midfielder to his new squad, and could turn to Fellaini after missing out on Thiago Alcantara and Cesc Fabregas. But Everton are keen to deter the Scot with a £30million price tag, £8million more than his release clause which expired last month.
Fellaini had also been linked with Arsenal last month, but the Gunners weren’t keen on paying the £22million necessary to sign him. But now the clause has expired, Everton have stated that their valuation of the Belgian is at £30million, and not a penny less.
Everton have been keen to stop their old boss from taking their star players, with early concerns over Moyes approaching the Toffees in an attempt to sign Leighton Baines. But no bid was made for the left-back, and Everton chairman Bill Kenwright is hoping that the same result comes with their 25-year-old midfielder.
United look set to start their new campaign without a new midfielder, when they take on Swansea on Saturday.
Will United sign Fellaini? Would you pay £30million for him?
