Manchester United ready to move for big money duo

Barcelona Midfielder Cesc FabregasDavid Moyes has insisted that Manchester United are in the hunt for big name players this summer, according to reports from The Times.

The new Red Devils chief is yet to make a significant signing since taking over from Sir Alex Ferguson, which has led some to speculate that he may not have the funding to chase big names.

Having missed out on Thiago Alcantara – who joined Bayern Munich – Moyes is said to have turned his attention to Cesc Fabregas, and is also ready to move for Tottenham’s Gareth Bale.

Ex-Arsenal star Fabregas is seen as the ideal man to fill the creative void in United’s midfield ranks.

Although he has insisted that he is happy to fight for a starting berth at Barca, the Premier League champions are hopeful that they can convince him to leave his boyhood club with the promise of being a key player at Old Trafford.

Bale is also a target, with Moyes having been impressed by 2012/13’s Player of the Year.

The flying Welshman has been strongly linked with Real Madrid, but their interest has dropped with Spurs reluctant to sell.

However, Moyes is confident that the opportunity to stay in England and battle for honours may be enough to make Bale force through a move.

Can Manchester United really sign both Cesc Fabregas and Gareth Bale?
