Real Madrid star Cristiano Ronaldo is refusing to sign a new contract in the Spanish capital but he is set to honour his current deal, according to the Irish Times.
Manchester United were keen on bringing their former fans favourite back to Old Trafford this summer but the Portuguese winger could now remain at Madrid until 2015 when his current deal runs out.
The La Liga giants may well look to sell their main man before the summer of 2015 to avoid losing him on a free transfer after paying £50million for him in 2009.
Incoming United boss David Moyes will have his own ideas and his own transfer targets but if the deal was available, any manager in the world would want Ronaldo in their squad going into a new job.
Ronaldo is also keen on seeing what happens to current boss Jose Mourinho this summer who is also expected to return to England, with Chelsea.
