Manchester United set to miss out on signing

RobertLewandowski

Manchester United appear to have missed their chance to sign highly rated Borussia Dortmund striker Robert Lewandowski who is inching closer to completing his move to Bayern Munich, according to the Daily Mail.

Lewandowski is possibly the most sought after striker in Europe right now and will cost Bayern around £25million.

The Polish hitman will join current team mate Mario Gotze in moving to their Bundesliga rivals as Pep Guardiola continues to form his dream team at Bayern.

Manchester United were extremely interested in signing the 24 year old who would be entering the final year of his current Dortmund contract next season.

England striker Wayne Rooney has asked to leave Old Trafford but the Red Devils are currently ruling out that possibility after missing out on Lewandowski.

More attacking options are set to arrive at the Champions this summer though with David Moyes in charge.
