Manchester United star’s head turned by big money offers

Patrice Evra (Manchester United)

Manchester United full back Patrice Evra is set for a massive pay day, even if Manchester United end up replacing him with Leighton Baines, according to the Metro.

The Frenchman – who scored his first goal of the season during yesterday’s 2-2 draw with Cardiff City – is expected to be in his final season with the Old Trafford club, with manager David Moyes reportedly keen to sign a new left back.

Moyes made no secret of his desire to be reunited with Leighton Baines in the summer, and is expected to move for the Everton man once again in January.

Southampton youngster Luke Shaw has also been linked with a move to Old Trafford in recent weeks, speculation that suggests Evra’s seven-year Old Trafford career may soon be drawing to a close.

The 32-year-old is out of contract in the summer, but it appears he won’t have to worry about money if he does not get offered a new deal.

Mega rich French duo Monaco and Paris St Germain are both understood to be battling for his services, and are both set to offer massive contracts to persuade Evra to return to his homeland.

Both clubs are understood to have offered contracts worth £31.2million over four years, which also includes a £5million signing on fee.

Evra may well decide on his future in January ahead of the World Cup, especially if as expected, United make a move for a new left back.
