Having lit the Bundesliga alight since his arrival from Manchester City, Borussia Dortmund star Jadon Sancho continues to be linked with a return to the glitz and glam of the Premier League.

The England international has started the current campaign on fire with two goals and two assists in his first three matches, and that has understandably kicked the 'Sancho to the Premier League' rumours into overdrive once more.

The Sun claim the 19-year-old is Manchester United's "top transfer target" in the January transfer window, and the Dortmund ace is Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's main priority.

The report claims that despite Sancho agreeing bumper new deal with Dortmund, United still hope to bring him to English football mid-way through the campaign in a bid to "avoid the massive revenue plunge" of missing out on Champions League football.

Make no mistake, landing the wing wizard in the winter transfer window would make the Red Devils strong contenders for the top four and the riches that come with it.

Despite Daniel James' goal-scoring start to his Old Trafford career against Chelsea, his rawness seemed evident in the clash against Wolves at Molineux. The Welshman struggled to impose himself on the game and suffered with a lack of space to run into. Sancho on the other hand, has shown his adeptness at thriving in tight spaces, averaging an impressive 3.3 dribbles per game last season.

More than his explosive pace, the former City star would add a sense of dynamism and fear that is missing from United's current squad. Looking around at Solskjaer's side, are there any players opposition defenders would lose sleep over? Anthony Martial and Marcus Rashford perhaps, but Sancho's repertoire of skills and trickery make him a full-back's nightmare and his versatility to play on both the left and right flanks simply adds to the options the United boss has.

Taking his incredible end product and putting it into the United side would add the amount of goals the Red Devils would need to charge into the top four. If teams decide to double up on Sancho, then the likes of Rashford and Martial would have even more space to weave their magic.

For all of United's struggles last season, they weren't too far off from clinching a shock top four place by the end of the campaign. Adding Sancho in January would be the sprinkle of stardust, and more importantly, goals, that could propel them back into the promised land.
