Manchester United target Mats Hummels has revealed that he would only really consider leaving Borussia Dortmund for Barcelona, according to the Express.

The 24-year-old Germany central defender has been linked with a move away from the Champions League semi-finalists at the end of the season.

United boss Sir Alex Ferguson is thought to be in the market for a stopper to eventually replace the likes of Rio Ferdinand and Nemanja Vidic at Old Trafford, while Barca are also looking to fill the void which will be left by veteran defender Carlos Puyol when he decides to call it a day at Camp Nou.

Hummels' father revealed last week that he had heard rumours regarding a possible summer move but insisted that there had been no contact with anyone.

However, he left the door open for Hummels to depart Dortmund when he said "every top footballer has ambitions to play sometime at some European clubs".

Hummels has now broken his silence and hinted that a move to Barcelona is the only way he would be tempted to leave the deposed Bundesliga champions before his current contract expires in summer 2017.

He said: "My father and I would turn down 99% of the clubs that come in for me.

"However Barcelona are one of a couple of teams that could make me consider a summer move."
