Porto winger James Rodriguez has had his transfer release clause adjusted by the Portuguese club and Manchester United will now have to cough up £38million for the players services, according to talkSPORT.

Rodriguez is another talented player from the Porto conveyer-belt and the Portuguese champions are widely known for inflating transfer prices and getting every penny possible for their young players.

Sources in Portugal are adamant that the new price tag; £13million more than in the previous clause; will not put off Sir Alex Ferguson who has dealt with Portuguese clubs successfully in the past with the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo and Nani impressing at Old Trafford.

Ferguson will however have to make the pacey winger his most expensive signing yet with the club clearly worried about losing their prized asset as they did in the summer with Hulk.

"With regards to James Rodriguez, I hope the news is not true because it costs a fortune to sign a player from FC Porto," Ferguson joked earlier this week.
